Day 11 Prayer – Cults and the Occult

,

Dear Prayer Warrior:

Please use this prayer as a guide.  As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.  Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue.  Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.

Scripture Praise Focus:
“Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you
and prove you a liar.”
(Proverbs 30:5-6)

Dear Heavenly Father,

“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God  Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come…You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”  (Revelation 4:8b, 11) Father your word says that “day and night” your praises never stop ringing out in heaven.  You are truth, and life and everything more beautiful than we can comprehend; and yet you are personal to us.  You speak to us individually and directly through your Holy Spirit and through Your word.  We cannot comprehend you, and yet you know us completely.  Through Your Son we can take refuge from the deceptions of the one who is at work in the world today.

Father, your word tells us: “Watch out for false prophets.  They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”  Matthew 7:15  We know some on this campus have already been exposed, have already been attacked, have already been deceived.  Lord, we pray that what is currently in the dark be brought to the light.  That You would reveal any strongholds or deceptions, and what may be regarded as harmless because of desensitization, would be revealed and removed from the hearts and minds of those ensnared.  God we thank you that You always provide a way out of temptation, that You are our strength and confidence to turn from a crowd, or even just a few, who would cause us to stumble or rely on anything other than you.  Father whether they have been innocently involved, indoctrinated, or they are immersed, break the chains that bind them and set them free on this campus. “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)

“When he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.” (John 16:13)  God we ask your Holy Spirit to come onto this campus and guide those present into all truth.  That the devil would have no stronghold on this campus, and all hearts and minds would be guarded in Christ Jesus.  Lord, we pray for an abundance of the fruit of your Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control be the testimony of this campus. Anxiety, shame and darkness are the evidence of the enemy, Lord, let the presence of your light and spirit drive them out. In Jesus name we ask the forces of evil would flee this place and hearts would be turned toward you, for your glory and their good.

Father, thank you that we have a way to you; that your word and your Spirit point us to the way: “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6 Jesus is the way to salvation in eternity, and freedom in struggles, help in forgiveness, and abundant life.  His gift is free and available to everyone.  Lord, help us to never miss an opportunity to share your gospel with anyone on this campus that they may be saved and have eternal life!

We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!
