Day 12 Prayer – Dating and Sexual Integrity
Dear Prayer Warrior:
Please use this prayer as a guide. As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.
Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you. Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue. Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.
Scripture Praise Focus:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.”
(Isaiah 43:2)
Dear Heavenly Father,
I give You thanks and praise for Who You are! You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth and You desire to know each of us in a personal and intimate way! Lord, You know what we need before we do and have a plan for us. You will not leave us to our own devices and destruction, but desire to live among us, and help us in ways we cannot even begin to imagine.
Father, in the blessed, beautiful name of Your son, Jesus Christ, we ask that these student’s hearts recognize their need for You. May these students accept You into their lives and allow Your Holy Spirit to help them in ALL that they do. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, Father, I pray these students will become aware of Your loving plan for each of their lives. Lord, it’s by Your power that we are able to deny the flesh.
Father, for students experimenting with dating or struggling with sexual integrity, I ask for Your guidance and understanding. May these students seek Your Word in understanding sexual intimacy as You created it to be. May they choose the path of purity, understanding that You can only bless us when we are walking in obedience to You.
Father, reveal the truth about promiscuity and the pain and brokenness this lifestyle brings. Give these students courage and strength to stand up against any cultural and modern-day tolerances and rebuke the enemy who is waiting to devour them! Help them remember Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge You, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer Your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.” And as they intentionally choose to walk with You and claim victory in sexual integrity, remind them of Your promise to guide their steps and always provide them a way out of temptation, 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken You except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let You be tempted beyond what You can bear. But when You are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that You can endure it.”
Father, we ask that You transform the very atmosphere of the college campus. Make the college campus a place where bright minds are sparked with innovation and where new friendships are forged. Let iron sharpen iron and may students and professors come together in the fellowship that only Your presence can bring. We pray that students will encourage one another to choose the path of purity, and be courageous in the face of adversity. Lord, may Your name be praised and all sexual promiscuity replaced with things that are praiseworthy and glorifying in Your sight. Philippians 4:8, “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
