Day 37 Prayer – Unplanned Parenthood
Dear Prayer Warrior:
Please use this prayer as a guide. As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.
Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you. Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue. Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.
Scripture Praise Focus:
“He will bless the fruit of your womb.”
Deuteronomy 7:13
Dear Heavenly Father,
We give You praise and glory that You can do the impossible in the lives of students who are agonizing over an unplanned pregnancy. Father, your word says you will bless the fruit of their womb. Father we know many options, both godly and ungodly face them. And on this very campus there are those who would encourage them to end life in order to preserve plans they have made. Lord, send your servants near to them with the message of life and hope, through parenting and adoption. Give them comfort that you will get them through this time in a way that glorifies you and is good for them.
For you know the plans you have for them, and you created the hearts that are beating at this very moment, but are in danger. Thank you for the precious life you have created, and deliver these students from the pain, shame, and fear they may be experiencing. Father we pray that you help them trust You to carry this life to term. Please touch their hearts and minds with the power of Your love and presence. Help them overcome the overwhelming guilt that seems too hard to bear (Psalm 38:4). For those who do not know Jesus as Savior, we pray that they would turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, so that they might receive forgiveness of sins (Acts 26:18).
We pray that students – male and female acknowledge that the creation of life is not a mistake. Help them see that their imperfect situation can work out for good. They may either decide to raise their child trusting You to provide and protect or they may give the gift of life to another who dreams to have a child of their own. We are all created by You to know unconditional love (John 15:12), to know all life has meaning and purpose (Psalm 57:2), and to feel accepted with a sense of belonging (Proverbs 14:26). May the Holy Spirit guide them to forgiveness over what they deem a mistake and choose life for the sake of this baby. Remove the feelings of hopelessness and despair and replace them with peace, comfort, and joy for the life they will bring into this world according to your plans.
Father, we pray that the students are careful in their actions and behavior. Sex within marriage is Your mandate, but we know students are confronted with images and pressure of having sex outside of that covenant. We pray for the strength to save themselves for your timing for sexual intimacy within their marriages. However, if an unplanned pregnancy should result help them to choose life. We pray the deception of the message of abortion would be silenced on this campus, and the option of ending a life would so wound the hearts and minds of those who spend their days here that this option would become obsolete. Lord, prompt your church to rise to the call of protecting the unborn child through loving the unplanned parent.
We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!
