Day 36 Prayer – Temptation

,

Dear Prayer Warrior:

Please use this prayer as a guide.  As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.  Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue.  Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.

Scripture Praise Focus:
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize
with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted
in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.”
(Hebrews 4:15)

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you this day and rejoice in You. We acknowledge this is the day You have made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. We pray today as Jesus prayed that You would lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever.  Amen! (Matthew 6:13)

Our hearts rejoice and are exceedingly glad that Jesus came to set us free from the power of sin and death. Our spirits revel in delight at the thought of being filled with Your spirit and Your power to overcome all temptation. You are the vine and we are the branches. As long as we draw from Your strength, we will be strong. Thank you Lord that you have already made a way for these students to resist temptation. In Matthew 26:41 Jesus warned us to be cautious and watch and pray, so we wouldn’t come into temptation.

We pray today specifically for those who struggle with so many ways to be tempted.

Please give these students wisdom to know when to limit their time with technology and to pull back on posting all of their thoughts and emotions on social media sites. Show them the dangers of having instant access to each others thoughts and being able to post their own thoughts as the thoughts come into their heads. Free them from the bondage of technology and let them find true, lasting freedom through knowing

You as their Lord and Savior and a Friend who loves closer than a brother.

Show these students how to resist temptation. Give them a desire to walk in Your ways and to walk blamelessly and uprightly before You. We pray today that You would put a shield of favor about them. (Psalm 5:12) We are so grateful that You Lord are faithful to Your Word and You can be trusted. You will not let the students be tempted beyond their ability and power to endure, but with the temptation You will always also provide the way out so they will be able to bear it. (I Cor. 10:13)

Thank You Lord, that in James 1:12, you remind us that You will bless the one who is patient under trials and who stands up under temptation. For when we have stood the test and have been approved, we will receive the victor’s crown of life, which You have promised to those who love You. We do love You today, Lord. We are so grateful You have made a way of escape for us so we can all be found faithful in Your sight. Help us all to be strengthened through temptation so we will be able to turn and strengthen others.

We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!
