Day 6 Prayer – Childhood Sexual Abuse

,

Dear Prayer Warrior:

Please use this prayer as a guide.  As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.  Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue.  Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.

Scripture Praise Focus:
“You, O God, do see trouble and grief;
you consider it to take it in hand.
The victim commits himself to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless…
You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry.”
(Psalm 10:14, 17)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Your love Lord, sustains us.  We give you praise for bringing us through every storm, that you hear us when we cry, You consider what we have been through and You help us God.  You truly are mighty to save, and we give you praise for each student here who has walked the path marred by sexual abuse and stand here on this campus with both wounds and courage.  You know the hurts that are here Father, because you know our hearts. Thank you that your love and your justice know no end.  We praise You for the students who are here, Because of Your great love they have not been consumed, for Your compassions never fail.  They are new every morning;  great is your faithfulness.”  (Lamentations 3:23)

For each student who stands on this campus Lord, help us to love them and spur them on to help, hope and freedom from any past abuse they have experienced.  Lord, they either are still feeling like a Victim (powerless), a Survivor (struggling through past issues false guilt, shame, anger, un-forgiveness), or a Conqueror (through an intimate relationship with Christ, giving Him full control, growing in self-worth, and capacity to love and be loved.)  In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37  Give us eyes and hearts to see them and love them, because You see and love them.  Father, set them free through a relationship with your Son, to know abundant life, forgiveness and healing.  Give us a boldness to protect and care for these students, and for them to protect and care for one another.  You are our great redeemer Lord.  Redeem for them the years of pain and make them more than conquerors!

Father, bar the enemy from any forms of sexual abuse on campus. Spirit pour out your love and healing on the hearts of those who are tempted, that they may find victory and freedom, and turn their lives all for Your glory.  Remind us to see past the sin to the need, and point one another to the freedom that is found in You.  Lord help us to love one another on this campus so that it is safe place for all who live here.  For those who are tempted and those who are abused, Lord free their minds from the pain of the past, and set their vision solidly toward the future.

Thank you, Lord, that you are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.”  (Psalm 34:18)  Thank you that forgiveness is for all of us who seek you and accept your free gift of salvation and forgiveness of our sins, and freedom from our abuse.  You are our Comforter and Healer, our Great Provider and Friend.  Thank you for hearing our cries and coming to our aid.  Thank you for allowing us to be your hands and feet as we love and encourage one another.  Help us Lord to Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave us. (Ephesians 4:32)

We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!
