Day 31 Prayer – Sexual Brokenness
Dear Prayer Warrior:
Please use this prayer as a guide. As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.
Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you. Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue. Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.
Scripture Praise Focus:
“For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.”
1 Thessalonians 4:7“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
Jeremiah 32:27
Dear Heavenly Father,
We give You praise and glory that You can do the impossible in the lives of students impacted by homosexuality. You are able to do far more than we could ever ask or imagine. There is nothing too difficult for You. So today, Lord, we ask that You put an end to homosexuality among students studying in our universities. Please touch their hearts and minds with the power of Your love and presence. As they enter this new semester, protect them from the lies and hurt associated with this behavior. We ask that they would feel Your love and are moved by your compassion to live a life pleasing to you, and not distorted by the lies of the enemy. For those who do not know Jesus as Savior, we pray that they would turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, so that they might receive forgiveness of sins (Acts 26:18), and live the life you have planned for them more abundant and free.
We pray for students during a time when the issue of homosexuality is dividing your people. We pray that everyone gives and receives Your love, kindness, grace, and mercy. For those living in this lifestyle relieve them of it by showing them their true identity and purpose in You. You have created us to procreate and have ordained that man should lie with woman and woman with man. Any other way is outside of your will and is deemed sin. We pray your church show those living in this lifestyle, or struggling in their understanding of it, the love and compassion of Jesus, along with the truth of your word regarding homosexuality, salvation and freedom. May the Holy Spirit make You known to all students allowing them to find freedom in Your truth. You have called everyone to live a holy life, not one of impurity (I Thessalonians 4:7) and you are faithful to complete the good work you begin in us. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, we ask that as each student trusts You for the purpose of their life, that they will in turn help others seek you to live their purpose as well. May students and professors trust and obey You, causing many to prosper and receive Your blessing of a holy life. May Your presence and power dwell on this campus in such a strong way that Your truth would allow them to see freedom in loving and serving You.
We pray there is an understanding and acceptance of Your plan for our lives. You have given us the responsibility of dominating and populating the earth. You have emphasized the importance of family and have modeled marriage for us in terms of the Bride and Bridegroom. You are the All-Knowing God, help us to glorify You through our obedience and submission. Thank You for Your forgiveness when we all fall short.
We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!
