Day 26 Prayer – Procrastination

Dear Prayer Warrior:

Please use this prayer as a guide.  As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.  Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue.  Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.

Scripture Praise Focus:
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God,
to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God,
which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,
that by testing you may discern what is the will of God,
what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
(Romans 12:1–2)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you so much for Your Spirit as well as Your written word. We thank you that you promise to reveal your will to us through both. Your Word declares in John 1:13-15 that Your Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

In John 16:13 you promise us that when the Holy Spirit came to us He came to guide us into all truth and that He will not speak on his own. He will speak only what He hears and will tell us what is yet to come. Psalm 119:105 tells us Your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. Today we come before You and ask You to lead and guide the decisions of the students on campus. Show them Your perfect will in their lives and give them ears to hear and a heart that is willing to obey.

Lord, we thank You for these students who we believe to be our spiritual children.

As we pray for them, we know we can stand upon your Word, because You are alert and active and You stand over Your Word to perform it.  (Jeremiah 1:12) In Isaiah 54:13 in the Amplified Bible, you promise us  that all of our spiritual children will be disciples taught of the Lord, obedient to Your will and that they will have great peace and undisturbed composure.

We pray today for these students who may be struggling on college campuses, trying to make good decisions with their time and with their lives. Help them to overcome procrastination. Lord, we pray You would prompt their spirits and show them the importance of being responsible and trustworthy with their time. Show them how to make good decisions: decisions that You initiate, that line up with Your word and that accomplish your purposes in their lives. Help them to depend on Your strength and to give You the glory in all of their decision-making processes. We thank You for making yourself real to them and showing them that You perfect those things that concern them.

We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!
