Day 17 Prayer – Guilt

,

Dear Prayer Warrior:

Please use this prayer as a guide.  As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.  Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue.  Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.

Scripture Praise Focus:
“I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord’–
and you forgave the guilt of my sin.”
(Psalm 32:5)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Father we are all guilty of sin.  Your word says that none of us are without it, and yet forgiveness is offered to each of us through your love, through Jesus Christ.  You are slow to anger, and abounding in love and faithfulness.  You are holy and righteous and still you made a way for our guilt to be atoned for; so that we may be reconciled to you.  Thank you Father, for loving us so much that you are not willing to let us go astray.  You have sent your Holy Spirit to guide, teach and correct us for our good and your glory.

If all of us have sinned Lord, this campus is filled with those who are susceptible to the lie that their guilt is too great for forgiveness, and that their sin makes them beyond redemption.  There are also those who do not recognize the depths of their guilt; their worship of idols, their pride, or their self-glorification instead of glorifying you.  Lord, some understand their guilt, and some would believe they have none.  Through your Spirit, bring a revelation to this campus so that the blind would see.  Your love covers all sins, all guilt.  Not just for the sake of forgiveness, but for the sake of freedom. Father, search them and know them.  Know if there is any offensive way in them and lead them in the way everlasting.  Bring them to the place of knowing their guilt, confessing and repenting, and walking in forgiveness and freedom.

“The accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.” (Revelation 12:10)  Father the enemy attacks with words like “you should be…” and “God isn’t…”  Help this be a campus of those who speak truth into one another’s lives.  That they would not condemn one another with accusations of guilt, but they would comfort one another with your promises of freedom. All they have to be is who you are making them to be. Lord, keep their mouths from watering down your gospel, your truth, and your precepts.  That they would not become guilty of misrepresenting you, the one who has redeemed them and given them the promise of eternity.

“For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.  This is the verdict:  Light has come into the world, but people loved the darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.  Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.  But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”  (John 3:16-21) Father bring this campus to the light; expose, forgive, heal, and bless them.

We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!
