Day 1 Prayer – Adultery & Infidelity

,

Dear Prayer Warrior:

Please use this prayer as a guide.  As you pray, listen to the still, small voice of God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.  Pray for persons or situations you may be personally aware of concerning this issue.  Use scriptures you know as the sword of the Spirit.

Scripture Praise Focus:
“Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body,
but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.”
(1 Corinthians 6:18)

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with such an anticipation of what You are going to do in the hearts and lives of college students who are just beginning their campus experience this year. For those who are returning as well as those who are freshman and new to campus, we pray You will give them a true desire to be sexually pure.

We ask You to touch these students hearts and minds and show them how You created them with a plan and a purpose for their lives. Supernaturally speak to their spirits and their consciences and reveal to them how You delight in those who are pure, moral and upright. In Matt 5:8 you promise that the pure in heart will see God and You call them blessed.

Your Word declares in 2 Samuel 24:10 that David’s heart smote him after he had numbered the people. He confessed that he had sinned greatly in what he had done and he asked you to take away the iniquity from him, for he had acted foolishly.

We pray today for that same kind of understanding to come upon the students when they find themselves in a sexually compromising position. We pray You would make their hearts sensitive to You and to Your voice. Lord Jesus, you instructed us that Your sheep know Your voice. We thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit to bring all truth to a situation and to reveal the error of our ways. You have done this for us throughout our lives and we pray you would do this for these students on campus. For those students who are in a relationship and even a friendship, we pray that you would teach them how to be loyal and faithful friends, even as David and Jonathan pledged to be loyal friends to one another.

For students who have experienced the pain of a broken home and know the way infidelity and adultery destroyed their parents’ relationship, we pray you would heal their wounded hearts of all past traumas and show Yourself as the Great Healer and Physician in their lives. Only You can heal the brokenhearted and mend those whose hearts have been wounded through the pain of separation and divorce.

We praise You great and Mighty One for being the Holy Father, Faithful Brother and Ever-Present Comforter to these students. As they experience college life and the hollowness of homesickness and loneliness, we pray You would be with them at all times to bring them comfort, love, peace and joy.

We pray this prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen!
